THE ARTIST | DJ BORING
Tristan Hallis, aka DJ Boring, could be the most ironically named performer today: energetic journeys into forgotten gems and future classics: nothing about what he does is boring. He inhabits a space where throwback trance sits comfortably with old-school house, and Belgium Techno syncs with rolling funk. He meets each mix physically with sweaty, infectious performances that are compelling to watch. This trait shines through in his new live show where hardware and controllers become a natural extension of his creative self, a conduit through which he presents a fresh take on his music.
THE LOCATION | MATERA
Matera is one of the oldest cities in the world and its territory holds evidence of human settlements starting from the Palaeolithic age and continuing uninterruptedly up to the present day. It represents an extraordinary page written by man through the millennia of this very long history. It is at the centre of an incredible rocky landscape that preserves a great heritage of culture and traditions.
The unique architecture of the Sassi di Matera speaks of man's ability to adapt perfectly to the environment and natural surroundings, skillfully using simple features such as the constant temperature of the excavated spaces, the calcarenite of the rocky bank itself for the construction of the above-ground dwellings, and the use of the slopes to control water and meteorological phenomena.

In 1993, UNESCO declared the Sassi di Matera a World Heritage Site. The Sassi di Matera are the 6th site in Italy in chronological order, the first in the south. Matera was designated European Capital of Culture in 2019.
